I even enjoy this one somehow. The guy is hit or miss for me, but when he's on Village makes some great stuff.

Witch house has ballooned to encompass many things, but I don't hear it in the above. I do, however, hear it in Crave. I can't really find anything for them on the tube, but they are on bandcamp for sure. It's kind of like a doomier version of Crystal Castles.

Hahaha, I know, it's lame as fuck. Still, I loved the album so much I didn't mind shelling out a mere mark of the beast. Homeboy that does Crave (I don't really know if it's just one person or what) also does other, similar but slightly more guitar-driven stuff under the name of Jonny Teardrop. Unfortunately, it seems that his bandcamp site is down.

Also, if you want something a little more conventional, check out Cabaal. The kids are calling this genre chillwave, I think. I like it for something in the background while I read or study.

One thing I can't stand about witchhouse is once I drop it in my iTunes, it's lost forever. Unless I fix the ID3 tags, I'm never finding that music again.

Why must everything be spelled out w/ ascii and wingding bullshit

I feel like that's part of the appeal, in a weird way. Just hit shuffle and watch your witch house Gucci Gucci slip right in behind Kreay unnoticed. Boom goes the dynamite.

Witch house has fallen by the wayside in terms of its popularity for me, but I've checked on on the output from time to time. Sidewalks and Skeletons, despite the high school at Halloween name, is one artist that pops for me. THIS IS YOUR ESCAPE has that familiar witch house tone and vibe, but there's something different there that suggests a greater awareness of how melody doesn't need to be antithetical to the genre. I like it a lot.

Also, Psychic Rites do something similar, and their overall sound is less dark.
