Dead Man is a huge load of shit. It is juuust masturbatory enough to trick elitist film buffs into stating they love it in the face of all "movie" fans who can't tolerate it for more than fifteen minutes. It feels GOOOOOD to like Dead Man... just like it feels GOOOD to say you like Dziga Vertov's work.... fuck Dead Man and fuck Dziga Vertov too. Spinning top my ass.

I think Dead Man is enjoyable on more than an a elitist level. It's got a little action. The Indian character is very likeable. The Soundtrack by Neil Young is pretty nifty too.

I don't think it's an elitist non-elitist thing at all. I think it comes down to Jaramusch's sense of humor. You either like it or you don't.

I've shown Ghost Dog to casual film fans and some like it and some don't. I happen to like the characters that populate his movies.

I really don't know enough about things to be elitist about anything. But I would probably put Dead Man in my top tier of movies as far as enjoyment. Probably not top 10 though.

I like William Blake, and I like Westerns=I like Dead Man.
I like Samurai and I like Hiphop=I like Ghostdog.

It's really only that simple. :-)

Blood of the Last Vampire was shit. It had no story whatsoever, the animation was amazing, but the voice acting was absolute shit. Utter garbage.
