Watched Project Nim over the Christmas break - there were some seriously idiotic people in there but it was interesting nonetheless. It was directed by the guy who made Man on Wire, which was dope as hell.

I woke up this morning and one of my friends posted this on facebook:

http://www.ddotomen.com/2012/12/10/30-for-30-you-dont-know-bo-full-episode/

It is the full-length feature on Bo Jackson. To be honest, I wasn't familiar with a lot of Jackson's story or career, and really just respected him as probably the greatest two-sport athlete ever (sorry Deion). Now I revere the guy as a pure legend. There's no telling what he would have accomplished if it hadn't been for the hip injury.

that Pirate Bay doc ^^ was OK, but I started to lose interest toward the end for some reason.

another one which is part of the same series (storyville) on Google Books was much more interesting and worth a watch. "Google and the World Brain". it's on iPlayer here http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b01qxmqc/ or rather appropriately, i do believe it's on thepiratebay.

I watched Room 237. Documentary film directed by Rodney Ascher about perceived hidden meanings in Stanley Kubrick's film The Shining.

I really enjoyed it but on a very geeky level. I felt towards the end the documentry had almost turned on itself and the participants perceptions were so warped by their own obsessiveness. Really enjoyable none the less.

Wow, just realized I started this thread so long ago. Glad to see it's a worthy topic.
For a surreal experience I have to suggest "The Ambassador" on Netflix.

Imposing tall Dutch white man gains access to the blood diamond trade by pure graft and bribery. Proceeds to make a hidden camera documentary.
