Django Unchained!! SPOILER ALERT!!  Reply with quote

I feel this movie deserves a thread all of its own. Who was Zoe Bell's character? IMO she was a relative of Dr. Schultz. The picture she was looking at was of a young Django and Schultz.

I have no idea who Zoe Bell's character was. I definitely have to see the movie again but I liked it the first time through. The real question about the film is this: Why the fuck did Quentin cast himself as an Australian?

I also thought the Australian role was weird. And is that even historically accurate? I don't recall Australia having anything to do with 1850s slave trade in the US.

I think those guys were just random Australians, who came to America to make their way like anyone else, and ended up being part of the slave trade. Quentin's acting isn't very good though. It wasn't as bad as Pulp Fiction, where he mutilated a crucial scene, but it was still pretty bad.

I think I may have come in late to the movie. Was there a scene before the opening credits?

For those interested, this is a pretty interesting interview done by no less than Henry Louis Gates Jr.
