well pretty much you can hunt any animal in the U.S. with an assault rifle provided the bullet has enough power to take the animal down as quick and humane as possible and I know for some animals --- not sure if for all --- but the magazine must hold no more than 5 rounds.

All that classifies an assault rifle as such is usually it being a rifle cartridge obviously and having a pistol style grip which allows the opperator to manipulate the weapons controls and reload without ever having to remove his firing hand from it's firing position on the pistol grip.

they are just as deadly as a bolt or lever action rifle.

This may be a lack of gun education issue. I have a feeling it will turn out that these guns weren't purchased by the shooter. If that's the case they obviously weren't properly locked up. And if that's the case all this could have been avoided if some idiot didn't decide he could afford guns before he could afford a quality gun safe.

Gun control isn't the issue though; it's a solution. The issue is handling social issues manifested in this case as psychosis. What are the social or familial conditions that made it possible for a man to shoot children? The answers to these questions and exceedingly complex and circumstantial, so it's more effective to curtail the possibility of killing sprees through gun control.

Its everyones duty to bear this burden and not lose themselves in the struggle against themself. A lot of people seem to just run and hide from it. I guess the best you can do is just prepare them for it.

Everyone is vulnerable, not just children. I can't see how this kind of paranoid thinking is at all helpful to anyone.

Did you read my second reply ecapataz?

...

Okay, so i was thinking about this issue and how i was only going along with everyones opinions. So i thought what do i think of the whole gun control debate.

Then it hit me. Bullet Proof Clothing. Looked it up and sure enough it exists.

Why hasnt it been mentioned as a part of the solution to this gun problem? Not in one debate for or against did i hear the mention of bullet proof clothing or taking a defensive measure to the tool of offense.

Apparently Obama wore a Miguel Caballero Bullet Proof Coat to the inauguration.

Surely bullet proof clothing is the answer.

Vice did a little piece on bulletproof clothing, Steven Seagal approved.
