Big Cats "For My Mother" - new album + free single  Reply with quote

Available on MP3, CD & vinyl (both signed) at www.tinyurl.com/ForMyMotherLP

"One" by Big Cats! by Strange Famous Records

"On 10/02/12 I'll be releasing my new album, For My Mother. It's a record that I've spent more than two years on. It began on April 29th 2010 when my I lost my mother, Christi, following a 3 1/2 year battle with ovarian cancer. When she was going through chemotherapy, surgeries and countless procedures, she often used music to help her relax and take her mind off of her treatment. When she passed, I knew I wanted to create something in her honor. It seemed only fitting that I create a new album. After all, if it weren't for her, I probably wouldn’t be making music today. Growing up, she devoted an incredible amount of time, effort and money to my music. She drove me to lessons, rehearsals, and band practices. She put up with noise at all hours, records strewn around the house, and my tendency to play the largest instruments possible. She was always the first to hear any new music I was working on and give feedback. This album is my eulogy for her." - Big Cats

In all seriousness, I got chills listening to this track. It reminds me that music is often more about a feeling or a sensation than anything else.

Purchased just off the first track alone. I never do that. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

the last Big Cats! album has been in rotation since I got it years ago. Ballad Northwestern is my go-to jam for spitting terrible freestyles. Can't wait to hear this new shit.

Got this album in the mail today and it is awesome! Also listened to samples of "Sleep Tapes" on Amazon thinking about purchasing that album too. Only place I could find it is on Amazon.

"Sleep Tapes" is available on iTunes as well: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/sleep-tapes/id292133076

It's been out of print for a while now though. Only available digitally.

Grabbed my copy of this on vinyl at the SFR storefront earlier this week, really great listen all the way through. Makes for a damn fine late night drive.
