Space Engine (Check this out!)  Reply with quote

I find myself completely dumbfounded that this is not yet used for your education, as well as in every education system on Earth.

It Is Called Space Engine

Made by ONE MAN in Russia. It accuratley depicts the local cluster of our galaxy, planets are procedurally generated, meaning as it says they are generated from a program....'

The thing is there are over 1 billion galaxies procedurally generated, each galaxy having billions of stars and you can explore EACH AND EVERY PLANET.

All made and coded by one very intrepid Russian friend who takes care of his forum (ask a question...1 day answer)

I really don't know how to explain it fully except for the fact I am off to explore more.

Here is the FREE download. http://en.spaceengine.org/load

I don't need to say it but this guy deserves maybe a few bucks, if it is within your reach.

This blows my mind and the fact that I am one of the first to know makes it exciting. This will be significant in the future. There is just no question really.

It's only accurate as far as star locations in the virgo supercluster (our local neighborhood in the milky way). Everything else is procedurally generated by an algorithm the programmer came up with.

T-Wrex, you can't really run it without a beefy computer, ie a dedicated graphics card.

I've just been getting into EvE, and this image sums up my first three weeks pretty well.
