Socialism Conference is fucking crazy. Like, last year was the first time I'd ever been in a room with a thousand other self identifying anti-capitalists. Actual socialists, at that. Not that I have anything against anarchists, at the end of the day, theoretically, there's not even that much difference. I identify as a Libertarian-Socialist or Socialist-Anarchist in fact. At Socialism though, it's like, people of all ages and backgrounds (students, rank and file union workers, doctors, teachers, lawyers, professors, accountants, etc) without it being any kind of punk / krust punk vibe at all; it's still about smashing the state, but it's mostly about education, class consciousness, and supporting class struggle. It's the most inspiring shit I've ever been to.
This year Glenn Greenwald, Boots Riley, party members of SYRIZA, and some of the Quebecois student leaders from the Maple Spring will all be speaking. Very exciting stuff |

The Future Stars of Wrestling HQ rented the ring out at the last minute! WHAT A SHAMMMMMMMMMMM. But it really was a mini Wrestling arena with signed pictures of Triple H all over the place. Ended up hanging out with Las Vegas poetry crew till late in the night. Actually had a reading out in the parking lot at like 2am. I can tell ya, there's some crazy-insane fucked up real life stories coming out people who actually live in Vegas.
First two shows of this tour have been well attended and high energy. So fucking suped that my Oly and Tacoma folks rallied to put on such quality events for me. Pics and updates and thangs are posted in the mobile uploads folder here: https://www.facebook.com/JaredPaulPFA#!/JaredPaulPFA if ya wanna check'em.
Also, my 2008 DNC arrest is part of a new documentary about the protests outside the convention called "5 Days In Denver" -- http://www.5daysindenver.com/

Everything I've heard about the progress of this tour sounds like success! I'm so glad Jared is crushing the solo shows. I wish I could catch one.
Good luck finishing up the tour, Jared! And if anyone here has the chance to check out the shows in the next few weeks, I highly recommend it! |
