I don't think this was posted yet. Unbelievably weird.

i heard kim kardashian already fucked hologram Tupac! And then he bitchslapped Chris Brown and sold out a Hollllagram Tour!
Holllla if ya hear me!
Isn't it strange how he was one of the realest, and made a track called U Can't C Me, so they made a hologram of him?
Hologram Tupac is still harder than Drake. |

I've been bottlenecked with every kind of response you could think of. Mainly I'm just disturbed by this. |

I think I watched a video last year about how Japan's biggest pop stars have been holograms for years.
For better or worse, this isn't going away, if the epic online reaction didn't tell you that already. |

From a purely technological standpoint I think it's amazing.
It's implications bother me though. |

Lowest common denominator pandering, ya'll. Michael Jackson is going to have a comeback tour this summer. |

you don't have to be dead to have a hologram. you could have one with yourself to perform with. or, you could film a performance, and have it playing in multiple places on one night. Would people pay?
This makes be think of Dr. Hello and the Praying Mantis - "that had to be a projection
from R2D2
Cause I am not see through
I'm more like, you cross the line and I'll see you" |

I think the eventuality of the technology will bring the hologram into your home. People aren't going to flock to festivals and arena shows for holograms, at least not for long. Maybe that's how artists are going to sell music in the future. Each "album" comes with an interactive hologram, or a holographic performance you can launch anywhere you can play the music. I imagine this would become just as easy to download and pirate as mp3s, though. Weird, but fun. For some reason, I can imagine Sage getting a real kick out of programming his hologram to be a real dick to people.
I understand the dislike, though. I think we are doomed to at least a decade of really distasteful music tours. It's also likely that kids start idolizing holograms rather than real musicians. Which, as far as the "musicians" that kids idolize, isn't really that big of a change if you asked me. |

I fully support this, as long as they realize that they need to put a big "H" on his forehead to avoid confusion... and switch him off to free up needed processing and projection capacity as soon as a more culturally important rapper dies.

I'm now following @HologramTupac, at least until the joke gets old.
@HologramTupac: I could have sworn I died with a shirt on.
... was a pretty good start to the run. |

Novel idea, but it's just moving to recorded music...
That's not a concert.
But if I was dead, I don't think I'd want something like this done without my permission.... seems cheap. Especially with the impersonator in the beginning yelling, "what the fuck is up conchellaaaaaaah? throw up a motherfucking finger..." |
