...laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, toilet bowl cleaner, dish detergent, counters and bathroom vanity, tub & shower cleaners...
Are there any alternatives to vinegar or 7th generation products? Biodegradeable.. is bleach really that bad? ...phosphorus? phosphates?... ammonia?
Or maybe we're healthier not to clean much?... building a natural immunity ... |

For laundry, a good friend of mine would use these things called soap nuts. I guess they were nuts that you throw directly in with your laundry. You can re-use them. They were available at the local coop.
Vinegar is a good one for cleaning. There are other biodegradable products besides 7th gen, but this was in Humboldt County where there is a healthy market for this kind of thing.
In some ways, the multitude of products we use to make us fresh actually create lots of waste, so in the long run they make the planet a dirty place. |

You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig shit, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig".

I think seventh generation kind of sucks. The best overall line I have used is Method products. They have them at Target, most health food stores, and decent grocery stores. Their mop stuff, wood stuff, tub/tile product, and auto and regular dish soap is solid. So is there hand soap.
I also think Sun and Earth makes a great all purpose cleaner, and they are located by me. My kids and I were able to tour the factory, they use recycled oranges for their oil to scent stuff, and the product is quite good at cleaning tough stuff. |
