I do like comparisons when it's those bands that you're mentioning. We've been playing together for about three months and haven't tried to go in any particular direction. Just hanging out and writing. Our first show is this weekend. I can't wait to start playing again. It's been a little while.

I would check out:

Here is "The Winter" one of my favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viN41AnA0uc

Olafur Arnalds

This guy is from Iceland I believe. Great stuff.

Rene Aubry

Great stuff, just discovered this music:

and finally, Max Richter. Also a new discovery for me.

ps, forgive the link and not the video coded post so you can play it in the forum. I am terrible with technology and hope I am not too much of a pain in the ass with the links.

Otherwise, enjoy.

Can anyone recommend something along of the lines of Kurtis SP? I listened to his record again last night and it's one of the best instrumental albums of any type, period.

I'm just now realizing what a great vibe that Kurtis SP album delivers.

Good recommendation on Yndi Halda and Beware of Safety, Captive8, really enjoying those bands.
