I like sours and ipas. gone through the whole RR line up, although Russian River day at Toronado was the look last year, got to throw back some 08 concecrations. Also had an 08 cable car that a friend was sitting on last month. Drank some drakes hopocalypse the other night. I got about half of the 2011 eclipse imperial stouts sitting around waiting to be cracked. I also have some firestone 13, 14, and 15 anniversary beers. I picked up a flying fish hoppy scarlet when I was in arizona last. I've got a 2010 alaskan smoked porter that I don't know if I want to drink or age a little longer. It's really the only beer alaska makes that's worth drinking.
Ballast Point's beers have been getting a little more into the rotation as well, the sea monster and sculpin are nice. I need to do a trade with some midwest friends I want to get my hand on some Bell's Hopslam, those guys make some tasty stuff.
sf beer week is coming up so there should be some fun events as well as drinking on some younger |

i'm not a beer drinker by any means, but i am a big fan of the band clutch, so i had to buy this and i drank a glass of it just to know what i had bought. if you are into dark sour ales, with the definite taste of chocolate and coffee, this would be right up your alley. it's almost impossible to even find a bottle of it outside of ebay at this point though.

If you see this beer for sale buy it post-haste. It set me back 8 bucks but it was well worth it. It's beer aged in rum-cask oak barrels and it has the smoothest taste and finish of anything I've ever had. At 7.6% you can also get a healthy buzz off just one. I don't know if you can get a 12oz or not. So delicious.
This. This stuff is delicious. I had one in Vancouver a year or two ago and loved it. Could never find it in the US, but it's been picked up at ABCs and Total Wine, so it's available now.
Probably my favorite right now.
Yes... that one's really good. They've also got Oak Aged Beer, which is also nice. I like the Rum Cask better though.
I've been loving this beer this winter:
Arctic Circle Ale - 7,3 % (Finland)
It has some juniper in it. I usually like any beer with juniper in it.
This is something I need MOOOORE:
Adechs Doppelbock - 7,1 % (Germany)
This has a rating of 99/100 in ratebeer.com... And no wonder. This is awesome. |

Not sure where in Maryland you are but there are two liquor stores in Mount Vernon in Baltimore that are selling clutch as of last week. |

Guinness makes a non-alcoholic beer called Kaliber. It's been 10 years since I quit drinking, but every once in a while I spoil myself. I know that the idea of a non-alcoholic beer is not something folks probably associate it with being a treat but believe it or not Kaliber actually tastes like a real beer if you drink it freezing cold. Not like an amazing beer or anything, but sort of like what a Honey Brown / New Castle light hybrid might taste like. Every once in a while it goes great with a meal or after a show when my throat is burning. |

That Clutch beer looks pretty interesting. I'm not big on coffee and beer together (thanks a lot, Sam Adams Winter Variety Pack) but I might have to check this out. Another terrific beer I've tried lately is this:
It's a scotch ale, though I won't pretend to know what that means. At any rate, it's a fine-tasting but extremely potent drink at 9.75%. A sixer of these induces quite the intoxicated state. And better yet, the beer is named after this guy:

the coffee isn't heavy, it and the chocolate come on in the back end of it. it is a sour ale and quite hoppy. i know it isn't for most and it isn't something you would drink a bunch of, but it's a good starter for a night of drinking or with a meal. it's quite potent too, i think it's 9 or 10% |

sorry to be the guy that starts his reply with i haven't been drinking beer lately... (really i haven't)
the last beer i had was a Boulevard Oktoberfest (sp?) as a dinner beverage with a delicious burger from 3 Aces in chicago.
i'm not sure if it was the combination of the two, or just the beer, or just the burger, but it really opened my eyes to "oktoberfest" style beers (do i really need quotations?). Mind you this was back in the fall so other bars were also carrying oktoberfest on taps.
tldr - i've had a few oktoberfest beers in the past, but never really thought much of the style of beer till Boulevard @ The 3 Aces changed/blew my mind. |

Everyone knows A&W is better than Barqs.
If you've never eaten at an A&W and drank the root beer from the tap you are MISSING OUT. |

We used to have an A&W / Long John Silver's combo restaurant. I'd get a big-ass rootbeer on tap and a couple pieces of big-ass greasy fried fish and feel sick for days, but it was so worth it |
