I don't know if you get over to Grand Rapids often, but when and if you do I recommend checking out Hopcats. They have great microbrews (don't try the Jamaican spice beer though; mistake), and a delicious selection of vegetarian meals including the Hippie Wrap and mac and cheese with jalapenos. That goes for you superstar rappers too, especially since Detroit seems less and less like a likely tourist destination.
I also endorse this little Belgian number:
You might not be able to tell from the bottle, but shit is infused with mustard. You can actually see the globules floating about like yellow seahorses. But don't fret, because this isn't a bottle o' beer plus French's. Nay, this is a delectably zippy beer that will start conversations and reveal true friendships. |

Man...I've gotta see if I can find this. I started brewing beer a couple years ago, and I started making my own mustards earlier this year. I've done a batch of porter mustard, but I haven't even thought about a mustard porter. That may be next on my list.
For what it's worth, making your own mustard is where it's at. |

My goodness the good folks at He'brew know how to make tasty beer. A very smooth and delicious flavor, not too mild and not too sharp. A really great balance of barley, hops, and wheat. Plus a portion of the proceeds go to saving/revitalizing/restoring Coney Island. And how you can you turn down a bottle image like this?
If you see this beer for sale buy it post-haste. It set me back 8 bucks but it was well worth it. It's beer aged in rum-cask oak barrels and it has the smoothest taste and finish of anything I've ever had. At 7.6% you can also get a healthy buzz off just one. I don't know if you can get a 12oz or not. So delicious. |

Most of the brews from the Woodstock Inn are terrific:

Is there actually a place to get Yuengling in Michigan? I've never seen it for sale. I would love a case. |

man, I forgot all about that shit. Haven't seen it in forever. I been drinking lots of Stella (It's usually the best lager on tap at most of my spots) and Victoria lately. Tried that New Belgium Snow Day and it was alright. Dark as shit though.
I thought that Guinness Black Lager and the Newcastle Winter IPA were kinda shitty. |

I'll keep that in mind the next time I head to Cedar Point. It seems weird that you can get in so close and yet so far. |

This. This stuff is delicious. I had one in Vancouver a year or two ago and loved it. Could never find it in the US, but it's been picked up at ABCs and Total Wine, so it's available now.
Probably my favorite right now. |
