Wow. The day he truly hands over the reigns, he's gone. He was an icon of computers and business.

Going out with a motherfuckin bang! This is the most respect I've had for him ever. A+, work. RIP. Honestly though, the world lost a really creative guy who pushed the technology envelope.

Damn...56 is too young.

It's a bit crass, but i'd be interested to know what if any experimental cancer treatments he tried. I would imagine he access to whatever was out there.

This should slow down the Wall Street thread for a while.

RIP, indeed, the man was no doubt a genius who changed technology and had a lot of vision for how people would interact with it.

This creates an interesting vacuum at Apple, and sort of in pop culture.

I think its fair to say that people don't hate Steve jobs the way they hate a wall st CEO. I don't think people genuinely have a problem with massive wealth if it's seen as coming from true innovation and your own hard work. A bunch of paper pushers are harder to love.

Seriously. If our society had any fucking sense of priority, the top couple of cancers would be no big deal by now. Like getting chickenpox. Instead we spend our money on war and bank bailouts. Meanwhile people like Steve Jobs, Carl Sagan, Stephen Jay Gould, and countless other irreplaceable minds die from a completely curable class of problems.

Goodbye Steve. I miss you already.
