DJBooth.net comes through with an original write-up rather than just cutting and pasting the press statement. It's sad to say, but this is an amazing development in online journalism! Haha. Big ups to DJBooth. I'm officially a dan now:

I really enjoyed their "Smash Smash Bang" EP they put out a couple years ago and their track with Jared Paul was pretty nice. I'm liking the sound of this a lot.

Metermaids are just WAITING to explode. Every damn recording I've heard of theirs has been solid gold, and EVERY time I see them live I think "shit, these guys are good".
Catchy, poppy and fun without trying to be any of those things. I expect big things from these fools, can't wait to hear the album.

Metermaids are the main feature of the day at DJBooth.net http://www.djbooth.net/index/tracks/review/metermaids-graveyard-shift/
Love seeing the love. Give love!
Glad to see the responses finally rolling in!
kHill, about half of the album is produced by 9th Wonder. The other half is produced by M.Stine who has produced a majority of all their older material. |

DEFINITELY digging this track. Ordering the album today!
I rocked the Metermaids Hello mixtape as much or more than anything else in my music collection since it dropped. Second Dog In Space is my shiiiiit. I'm sincerely and eagerly looking to my first listen of the new record.
Also, if you've never seen them live: BELIEVE THE HYPE. They got a live set that'll embarass most of the established hip hop acts out there. |

From the snippets I'm hearing the production on this album sounds incredible. Really lush in your face type shit. This might be the record that sells me on The Metermaids. |

Very excited about this album. After the recent string of shows we did I got to hear a bunch of the new material for the first time... got me hype to say the least. Stopped what I was doing, came home and recorded a remix verse level hype. The beats on this record can't be denied, and the fellas are sounding better than ever.
Glad to see the Metermaids get the shine. Strange Famous #1, bwah. |

The album hits hard as hell. Some very special moments on it. And when I saw them rock the big stage at Mishiwaka as if they were seasoned at playing arena type settings my only thought was, "OK...now how are we going to get these guys on big stages." Haha. They just look so at home there. |

YES to all of this. HELLO is so fucking good, I try to get more people on it, I repost the link to the download from time to time on FB, that and Sole's Nuclear Winter. People are weary of free downloads being as dope as either of these albums, but I still try to turn people onto them whenever I can.
Their live set is bananas, sometimes you see a rap/hip-hop duo and you see one of the emcees really outshining the other and it can irk you on some level, like "Why is he working with this other dude?", but Sentence and Swell are on a pretty even keel, they pass the energy back in forth in a way that keeps you hooked on the performance the whole way through and they have a fun, entertaining and light-hearted stage presence that makes you want to jump up and down and dance with them. I'm so glad more and more people are discovering them. |
