I just read about this. A few weeks ago I was white water rafting on this river.

I haven't heard anything about this story. Why's it only in the UK? But I guess if it doesn't have anything to do with Casey Anthony then no one's going to care about it in the U.S anyways.

Unless........

We can somehow tie her to the oil spill...

Couldn't tie her to a murder...

Anyway, your reference does illuminate what matters to people in the United States in terms of news, concerns, and sensationalism. There are articles out there if you're willing to look.

It's funny you mention it being UK because it was my friend from the UK that linked me to this story. I was surprised no one was talking about it.

I realize now that I can find the story on some US media outlets with a few quick searches but it was the fact that this thread on the SFRF with a UK based link is what tipped me off to it.

If you go to CNN or MSN dot com they have no mention of this story but you better believe the breaking news is Casey Anthony!

Just saying

Exxon "deeply regrets the release". I guess if it is under 1,000 barrels then it is just a release. Exxon 4TL. Again.

I'm sure they care somewhat about their reputation, but the media hasn't touched it so they are safe for now.

So the other day I was driving home and I fucked up and didn't have enough gas to get to the local Sunoco. I had the choice of BP and Irving (Mobil). I WAS TORN. What would you have done?

I saw something about this on FoxNews.com and CNN.com a couple days ago..
It didn't get sensationalized, but it wasn't ignored.

Unlike China... Where Conoco-Phillips just had a bad spill and the government helped cover it up.
