John McCain was never crazy. For a Republican he's a pretty decent guy. That twinge of craziness you saw was two things:

2) Grappling with honesty. ...

Which of these covers "gook?"

Redball, twinge of craziness?!? That's like saying Palin is only a bit narcississtic.

While I don't find it acceptable for him to say "gook" I don't think that makes him crazy. Nor do I think it defines him.

Racism isn't acceptable but racism alone doesn't equate to crazy. There are a lot of psychological factors that lead someone to racism. If you can't understand how a man with his background would rationalize disliking Vietnamese people then I'm afraid I can't help you.

Rationalizing is crazy, colloquially. I don't have any argument to make that he's clinically afflicted, I just think that everyone has a REASON they hold unacceptable views, and his is no better than many.

I don't care about if his soul glows under blacklight, I just think he is a harmful public figure.

Well, I'm not saying he's a net positive. I'm saying that he's not crazy and that he's not that bad of a guy. He's a more positive public figure than the generic Republican.

I'm not asking you to give him a high five, but don't be surprised when he expresses a view that he's held for practically his entire political career.

First lawsuit suing for photos and video of the bin Laden kill. Looks like conservatives beat liberals to the punch on this one. Silly liberals, protecting citizen rights shouldn't be left to conservatives:

I have been avoiding SFF because of how daunted I was of having to pore over this particular thread before I even saw it. Guess it's time to start. How long does it remain entirely spurious before someone says something?

Just don't ask anything about anything.

Apparently asking questions means you believe the moon landing was filmed using cheese models & Princess Di was killed by Monsanto.

And here I thought Princess Diana was killed by Bush as his initiation into the reptilian changeling society then buried under Denver's airport this whole time..

That's what they want you to think.

Can't you see it's all lies within lies!

Thank Gawd for the rapture in a couple of weeks.

The Obama administration is already foot-dragging on FOIA requests - one from AP - to provide images and video of the bin Laden kill to the public. In the word's of Judicial Watch's (the conservative group now suing) President:

"The American people have a right to know, by law, basic information about the killing of Osama bin Laden. Incredibly, the Obama administration told us that it has no plans to comply with the Freedom of Information law, so we must now go to court," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said.

I just went back and read the whole thread, because I'm interested in how much people - whether psyched or chagrined about his assassination - speak of Bin Laden as though he had anything at all to do with 9/11, up to and including absolute and sole responsibility/blame/credit.

It's so weird how that fiction persists among people who are super critical, when it's not even controversial who the active participants and planners were.

(Not talking about him as an innocent - totally shitty dude, worked on killing many people; nothing whatsoever to do with 9/11.)

So I was looking for that and kind of gritting my teeth, and I caught my first full whiff of Josh Kane that I've had in a long time. Holy shit how can you stand to engage with him? It's like putting a Firesign Theatre LP on at full blast and banging your face into a brick for twenty minutes every time he's invited to blast his jazzy word-jizz all over the screen.

Stop asking the demon lovechild of Bushwick Bill and Wavy Gravy to give his political theories! Buried in the two thousand words he can't hide being miffed he wasn't paid to write, is... NOTHING. He lacks credible analysis. He just loves the sight of his own voice. Ohhh it makes my tummy hurt.
