maybe the State Lotto system will set up USA poker rooms and the rake will go towards education and all the teachers that are getting laid off..

if not... somebody should draft that into law.. it sounds like a good idea to me.

AFAIK, the powerball and megamillions and such have never been rigged?...

one day before this all happened, NPR had a story about online poker and pokerbots.. odd timing.

also i have a white water rafting trip in WV on May 20th weekend. If I have the funds I am very strongly considering driving to Atlantic City from there and gamble for a few days. I'll let you know if I find myself in that area

Not sure where you are in wv, but there is a casino or three there. Greenbriar or wheeling.

People in Iran and China can log on to Pokerstars now and play but Americans can't.

couldnt get it to embed, but theres a little discussion about it on cnbc.

lotta wild speculation going on out there, but i dont think anyone really knows whats gonna happen. fact is the sites were pulling some shady shit for years and in a pretty in-your-face manner, so the most surprising thing is how long it took the feds to crack down.

say what you want about freedom blah blah, but i dont think they were treated much differently than any other industry committing fraudulent transactions using U.S. banks.

Well, other than the banks themselves of course hehe.

I've done a little math and im going to lose roughly 20-25% of my paltry income. and now i'll probably have to get a job that i hate even more than poker. oh, and obama just lost my vote.

First they came for Max Hardcore and you said nothing because you aren't an old man who likes filming himself peeing in the mouths of pigtailed 18-year-olds.

Then they came for the online poker websites, and nobody was left to speak out for you.

Wait, didn't Obama already lose your vote when Congress didn't pass a public health care option?

Well...define "old," and then we'll talk.

I assume if you're interested you already heard, but full tilt and poker stars came to an agreement with the feds to get their '.com' sites back and running in order to facilitate getting U.S. players their money back. Not too much detail, but there wont be any real money poker on those sites in the U.S. anytime soon.

good news but not great

here's the release

not my biggest monetary win this year, but my first 1st place finish of the year. didn't even buy in with cash, just used my VIP points to buy-in. but it's an added bonus for me to win in a game other than just texas hold'em

it's currently my favorite option available. I like their double up sit n gos where you can just get in the top 50% and double your money. When I've cashed out I've always received my money speedily. If you cash out a lot you might try aced.com poker...they are the same network but just different skins. Just on SB for a courier check your first one is free and after that they charge 40 dollars to withdraw, which is ridiculous. On aced.com it is a 15 dollar fee. But I can't vouch for their speed.

i'm just interested in traffic and variety..

i used to get into a 8-game, HORSE or Omaha sit and go quicker than it took a NLHE to fill up on Cake..

hm traffic has grown since the big crackdown, but is still nowhere near the levels you're used to. and if you're into horse, omaha, etc it would probably take awhile to get into a game. it's a good site for hold'em, and easy sit n gos to make money off of, but I can't say much more about it than that. they have a good amount of scheduled tournaments though
