I really can't believe it's worth that much. I love the site, but $315 million? for what, exactly?

They bought TechCrunch last year as well. Seems like they're making a consolidation play along the lines of the one Gawker attempted a few years ago. My guess is that it will have similar results.

I know, but damn...I don't really know anything about how much revenue ads on big websites generate, but can it really be that much?

I'm not on the inside or anything but I do think it is worth that much. Facebook for an example is worth 25 billion. There's a big difference between these two sites and how they are used but when a site has tens of thousands of hits a day its worth big money to companies and investors.

That's just my perspective though. I could be wrong...

I'm not rich by any means of the imagination but 315 million now days (business wise) is not that much money.

Shit... I have about 100K in student loans for an undergraduate degree... It's a really nice piece of paper though you should see it!
