No real surprise with the cause of death... people his age just don't really die unexpectedly very often. Too many of the jazz musicians he idolized destroyed themselves with the same poisons. This news changes nothing about who he was or what he left behind -- and in a way I'm actually relieved that this was the cause of death and not something more random and unpredictable. Somehow the predictable tragedy is easier to make sense of than the bolt out of the blue.

Yeah, it's like my homie said.

It's really too bad. He had so much more time.

Rest in peace, Mikey.

I was really hoping for something else. As strange as that sounds. It's never good when anyone dies, I'm just kind of rambling.

"Larsen also recorded about a dozen hip-hop songs over the summer, which were part of a planned, 13-part series. The songs were written and produced by Larsen alone. Averill said he’d planned a couple more songs.

It’s an upbeat album, happier than he’s sounded in a while, and Averill thinks a springtime release would be be best."

Yay!

Am I the only one that finds it werid that the media refers to him as Michael Larsen first and Eyedea second?

It's more
Michael Larsen, also known as Eyedea, passed way...
and not
Eyedea, real name Michael Larsen, passed way...

Will we be talking about the death of Robert Zimmerman when that time comes?

Maybe, the "he was a person before an artist" kind of approach? He was more than Eyedea?

Didn't Bob Dylan legally change his name? Regardless, he's world famous as Bob Dylan. Very few artists, only the most famous, would the get stage name treatment.
