What a creeper. Cooper is on point in his observations. This guy keeps referring to the kid as a "political figure". What the fuck? This would have been a good spoof on Parks and Recreation or something. Lets go the middle school and picket Little Billy's radical agenda for student council. This guy should be fired six ways to Sunday.

We need more media types like Cooper and Maddow. I also dug the big ass touch screen. Weathermen need those.

This guy is insane. He's also a clear cut moron.

And probably a closet case.

I can't get my head around how this guy hasn't been forced out...

Isn't he paid for by tax dollars? Has there been any kind of public outrage in the US?

So many people like this guy in soooo many positions of power. Very scary. Very frustrating.

Survey Says: We need mandatory run off's now. It's the only way to build alternative parties and challenge/unseat racist-religo-fascist republicans and democrats.

Dude is obviously gay.

Anyway, there seems to be some confusion about this dude being an elected official. An assistant AG is not elected. The AG himself is (Cox in this case.) The AG's office includes many different departments ( http://www.michigan.gov/ag/0,1607,7-164-19441-60568--,00.html ) and generally the head of each department hires the assistant AGs.

Cox himself seems like he may not have a problem with this sort of thought:

yo I am SOOO glad you brought up Buster, kHil. it's dead on the fucking nose.

also, Anderson Cooper did a great job with this guy. I believe AC takes particular offense to this story, and he's just so cool and straightforward with the guy. Really lets Buster shine.

Smug motherfucker. I don't think free speech means what people who hide behind it think it means. The government can't pass a law restricting your speech but your employer can fire you for being a hateful asshole.

Well, his employer is the government in this case, so it's not that simple.

He can't be fired for his political speech outside the office, but he can be fired for harassing someone. Problem is, his boss seems to agree with his basic position, so he won't get fired unless there is sufficient public pressure.

I kept waiting for AC to make the distinction between criticism and namecalling.. I was left disappointed. Even if you accept that a student body president is a political firgure, and thus open to political attack 24/7, putting a swastika on someone's face and calling them satan's representative is not criticism.

I believe he was suspended this week, matter of fact.

You'd think with the all the public officials in the last five years or so who have been virulently anti-gay in public who turned out to be gay in private, that these guys would give it a rest. Most of them now just come off as self-hating closet cases.

Yeah, I can't fathom their thinking? I mean I can understand that it would be really hard to come out if you had a wife, kids and a highly public political life, but why go out of your way to fuck it up for normal gay people?

To tow a party line? Just shows just how screwed up these human beings are.

I hope this guy comes to terms with the fact that openly gay people can become class presidents. It'd be nice if he realized they can be assistant attorney generals as well.
