My video interview with Marvel Comics  Reply with quote

Whaaaa

I've never really been big into comic books. But when I left that place they gave me a STACK of them and I recently finished them all. My favorite was one called Electric Ant, written by Phillip K. Dick. I'm definitely going to look for more of those.

Seriously though, we all grow up with these characters in our lives. It's always interesting meeting a childhood hero.

So jealous! In a good way though. Not in that dark, bitter way.

THAT'S AWESOME.

damn, that's awesome, sage. i've always loved comic books growing up. It's something i kind of want to get back into, but i feel like i don't need to spend money on em again. You should send out some of those comics with SFR orders....

I am extremely jealous. There's a couple adaptions of PK Dick books that have come out recently. I think Avatar Press put out one fairly recently.

If you want any recommendations, I think you'd dig Jonathan Hickman's Nightly News which is kind of like if knowmore.org was a comic book. You might also like DMZ by Brian Wood. It's a book about a near future civil war in the united states. Takes place in New York and is kind of a what-if everything came down on it's head kind of deal. Another good recent book is Sweet Tooth by Jeff Lumiere which is kind of The Road meets mutant animal children.

As far as PK Dick mind twisty stuff Grant Morrison's Invisibles is a good stop for that.

Stephen King is also doing a comic book right now called American Vampire which is supposedly very terrific.

Oh and if you want to get like specific issues as opposed to just the trades that Amazon or whoever might have. http://www.midtowncomics.com/ is a great place to buy comics online. I never got to go to a good comic book shop in Rhode Island while I was there. Newbury Comics is a joke. I don't know why they put comics in the name.

What's funnier to me is your black socks and shoes combo. Or rather, your total lack of flip flops. You remind me of a Scottish dude I go to school with.

On the flipside, you look great wielding Mjolnir.
