250 thousand people is a damn good action. The thing that keeps tripping me out about this is that despite the total ignorance behind this, this is a social political movement. If you can mobilize a quarter million people and pressure the government to address your ( mostly illegitimate in this case) grievances, get hella media coverage, then, well you have yourself a successful movement. Like that guy in the video and others have said here, there seems to be no reason, clear goals or platform. They speak in vague references to mythic American anglo-saxon protestant revolution, they take the whole things out of context and they lack critical thinking skills.
I would like to see an analysis of class within the Glen Beck revolution, I mean the way the social and economic conditions of America must have a bunch of lower-middle class whites needing a blame. I don't even look at them as a crazy bunch of right wing nutjobs, but an extension of Bombzo the Clown. They are the collective subconscious of every white American; the ignorant, racist shadow that has loomed over every single institution here from the beginning. It is the antithesis of W.E.B. Debois, it is the souls of white folks. think Bombzo needs to be on stage at the next rally. |
