Ceschi's "One Man Band" CD & vinyl  Reply with quote

SFR homie Ceschi Ramos has made a new record, and we like it, and we think you will too.

The incomparable talent Ceschi (pronounced chess-key) has collaborated with German producer DJ Scientist for some years now. The product of this collaboration is Ceschi’s lastest album The One Man Band Broke Up.

The album is a beautiful and bittersweet culmination of all of the musical elements that brought these two unlikely musicians together: psychedelic, prog, folk rock and, of course, hip hop. Featuring the talent of friends Astronautalis, 2econd Class Citizen, Radical Face, Sole, Cars & Trains, MiC K!NG and more – Ceschi paints the portrait of the rise and fall of the one man band Julius and the Bearded Savior.

Available here at SFRstore on CD:
http://tinyurl.com/ceschi

and on Vinyl LP:

Check out the first video off of the album, "Bad Jokes":

No reason to sleep on this. I think just about everyone on this forum could appreciate this album.

Agreed. And Ceschi has a voice that makes you want to listen, whether he's singing or rapping.

His writing is really fucking great. I enjoy practically everything about this guy's music. I think the only thing I could ask for is something with less cameos. He has such a unique sound that I don't like taking a detour from his vocals when other people step into the song. That's opinion on most rap that isn't specifically geared toward guest features.

Great job on this album, Ceschi. Looking forward to hearing more from you.

I really like the back on forth with Sole on "Long Live The Great Short Lived", but definitely know where Sage is coming from.

I'm a firm advocate of this one too... It's got a lot of the straight up hip hop jams on there but there are some which go beyond or don't go into hip hop at all - it's really refreshing. He reminds me of Tunde from TV On The Radio with a bit of Mikah 9 in there too. Real good stuff. The last track is awesome (no spoiler).

I've been banging 'No New York' since the last Fake Four compilation dropped. His perspective is pretty spot on. The full album definitely lives up to all my anticipatory self-hyping.

"Dreaming of 1966 bitches; the way they flock to your dick and riches like a pack of thugs at a fried chicken kitchen."

Still listening to this a lot, shame there's less discussion of it, it's all kinds of awesome.

But hardly happy summer listening, maybe it'd have gone down better as a fall/winter release..!?

Ceschi is so good, man. He's the underground hiphop hidden gem at the moment.
During a time when no one is really scouring the underground indie scene for shit, it's all the more frustrating that he doesn't get the exposure and support that he deserves. I'm glad he's not on SFR because I'd be tearing the rest of my hair out. And there's not much left.

there's a lot of great ceschi stuff on youtube...

is there a type of music he DOESN'T play?

rock, metal, hip-hop...

to be honest, he's hit and miss with me at this point. but the stuff that I like, I can't seem to get enough of.

I enjoy this album, I like the guitar elements and fast raps especially. It could do without some of the sing-songy stuff. Over all its real nice. Love the track half mast!
