Aah, that's dope. It's so bad, I haven't really paid Zane Lowe much attention over the years for some reason, I never really knew what angle he was coming from or what music he would play so I definitely slept on him. Clearly he knows the time though, I feel dumb for sleeping.
That made me think as well, about how when you hear lyrics that are very specific, sometimes they do resonate way more than when it's ambiguous. I know it depends on who's delivering them but a lot of the time you do get so much more when you hear personal stories. And I'm sure with that track too, like Zane said with the letter, there are probably pieces of that which everyone's experienced or thought about a lot. It's crazy powerful. |

I don't want to derail the thread or anything, but I'm wondering how you tube comments don't keep me awake at night. They are literally the lowest of the low. A cesspit. A piece of shit with a heart beat. Every little roach crawls out from every little hole to give their disheartening opinions. Not in the sense that what they say is ridiculous and mean spirited, but that people like this exist and are allowed to have voice boxes. I know there are plenty of people out there in the real world, but not everyone wears this shit on their sleeve so proudly.
How does consciousness bring someone to this existence. Why doesn't anyone bash their own brains in with a hammer after looking into a mirror. Why is it so easy to not care. Where have all the cowboys gone? |

I believe that most youtube comments are teenagers trying to find their voice. Maybe they're exploring the effects of saying hurtful stuff or something. Exploring boundaries. It's important to remind yourself that youtube comments are not the words of equals. |
