New DARK TIME SUNSHINE CD + 7" + FREE Fake Four CD  Reply with quote  

Onry Ozzborn (of Grayskul & Oldominion) and Zavala (responsible for beats on Sleep's Hesitation Wounds & Christopher albums) are Dark Time Sunshine, and have dropped a new album called "Vessel". The record features appearances by Aesop Rock, P.O.S., Solillaquists of Sound, Qwel, and Ceschi Ramos.

I've said it before, but that Zavala dude is an animal on those beats. His stuff just keeps getting better and better.

This quote sums it up well (from the SFR store) "Onry spits abstract anthems while Zavala’s boom-bap psych-rock production swirls, twists and bangs beneath."

Zavala definitely has a recognizable and consistent sound. It's like he's mastered whatever equipment he uses and he's riding that goddamn wave Point Break style, except he doesn't die at the end.
