SFR announcement wrote: Not that I'm trying to shake off a possible purchase, but that sounds like it has bad idea written all over it. There are no guarantees when a CD will arrive.
yeah, i know. that's why i didnt do the pre-order in the first place. but if i know when it goes into the mail, i have a pretty good idea how long it'll take to get where i'm going. and if i factor in an extra day or three, the hotel will hold it for me until i arrive.
or, i can paypal you $20 and you hook me up with a download link. i dont know if you're set up for that kinda thing, but that would be super duper. |

I got my copy along with the instrumentals cd and the posters etc yesterday. I'm really happy with the purchase. The jewel case was cracked and kinda ruined inside but that's probably some asshole's at the post office fault and I'm used to it by now. Thanks SFR! |

Oh, word, then. Heh.
Of course, I still have to have the hard copy and all the goodies. Is there any kind of deal for that? I mean, I'd pay $30 altogether, but if there's a better way... |

I don't even browse this forum anymore since I am so busy with school, work, and random things. I even don't do art anymore BUT
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!
This album is great! B.Dolan on the mic....watch out world! Alias on all the beats!
SFR!
This album is going to push me this summer!
THank you B.Dolan, Alias, and Sage Francis. It has been a while since I have heard something this good.
Then, I get an email about a new Sage Francis album with some of the production lineup..... |

i put this on my mp3 player at the gym last night,i cant stand the production, its the same run of the mill alias anticon sound i dont wanna hear.
rather hear bernard over boom bap production which i feel serves him better than this.
b dolan is good live, but the production kills me. |

Me too! It bangs hard. I skimmed over the rest of your post because it's being displayed in Windings font and I can't make sense of it. Weird. Oh and I edited the quote for clarity. |

We asked them to have that banner up and they obliged. Haven't asked for a review. I didn't even really know they were doing reviews there anymore. I'll poke around. |

I haven't taken the time to digest an album like this in a long time, and it's been one of the more rewarding experiences I've had. I've heard something new each time, like a lyric in a new way, or a particular change of tone or cadence, or something about a beat that I didn't hear before. It's terrific. The first time I heard "Economy of Words" it didn't pull me in, but from the second time on it stuck with me in the best way throughout the day. My jaw continues to drop at "Border Crossing" with each subsequent listen, and the vocal sample in "Marvin" still makes my skin feel tingly. The only song I don't really care for is "Mr. Buddy Buddy" but I think with time it will probably win me over. One final note: FHSC is one of the most complete albums I've ever heard. The production is super consistent and perfectly suited to B's voice, which is easily one of the finest hip hop has ever heard. It's grimy, it's kind of ominous, and, most of all, it commands attention. This is easily one of the top 10 records of 2010, hands down. |
