Interview with some Swedish Magazine 4/16/03  Reply with quote

conducted by Jens Mattsson

1. You are going to visit us in Sweden this summer and perform at
"Hultsfredsfestivalen".
You have done that one time before. Do you look forward to it?

"Yes, I played the Hultsfred Festival in 2001. I love performing in Sweden. Every time I return there are more and more people showing me love and appreciation. How could I not look forward to this? Its going to be a blast."

2. When did you start to rap?

"When I was 8 years old. It was a hobby/passion all through childhood on into adulthood."

3. You did Still Sick...Urine Trouble year 2000, Sick Of Waiting Tables year
2001 and Personal Journals year 2002.
Which album are you most happy with?, And which track?

"I also did Known Unsoldier 'SIck of Waging War.' I was most happy with Personal Journals since it is a complete album with mainly studio recorded tracks. I guess the track I am most happy with is 'Makeshift Patriot' because of the impact it has made."

4. Are you going to perform with new unreleased material at
"Hultsfredfestivalen"?

"I certainly have a lot of new stuff to perform, but I don't know how well it will go over if the people aren't familiar with the material. They may want to hear songs they can follow along to...especially since there is a bit of a language barrier. I'll do a couple new tracks."

5. When does the next album come? And what else is coming up in the future?

"My next big album is the one with my group the Non-Prophets. The name of the album is HOPE. It will be out in about 4 months. I am featured on another album with Buck 65, produced by DJ Signify, called Sleep No More. Besides that, I am still working with a band and preparing music for my next solo album that will most likely come out on Epitaph (punk label.) I will be touring Europe again this summer. Info will be at www.non-prophets.com "

6. Who do you think is the best rapper for the moment? And who is the best
producer?

"Hmmm...I don't listen to much rap. At all. I am very impressed by Andre of Outkast. Best Producer at the MOMENT might be Shadow. I heard the 'March of Death' track and ruined my favorite pair of pants."

7. Which mean have Internet had for you? And what do you think about
Internet in common, for the rap-scene?

"I'm not absolutely sure of what you are asking here, but I think you are asking what I think about the internet. The internet can be a great tool. It can also be a horrible vice. I shouldn't be wasting as much time doing emails as I do. I just don't think it's all that helpful. it is important to stay on top of business though, and it helps me do that. I can't really say it has done anything tremendous for the rap 'scene.' It has done about as much good as bad as far as I can see."

8. I often read in the Swedish hip hop forums that people talk about your
age. They say you are all from 25 years to 48.
One time for all, If I can ask you, How old are you? :)

"32"

9. Do you have a work or are you the type who just chill in the studio and
create music all the time? :)

"Hahaha...fuck a work. And fuck chilling in the studio. I don't have a job. My days and nights are filled with ideas that translate into something that keeps me out of a 9-5."

10. What do you think about President Bush? And his attacks against Iraq?

"I think he is an incredibly sad specimen. They will study G-Dub in the future with lingering doubt that someone like him actually existed. It's true, future...we have a monkey in the control room. His attack on Iraq is incredibly disturbing. I mourn for all the citizens and soldiers who are dying senselessly right now."

11. If you wanna make some Shoot-outs, letīs do it now!

"Hey Bill O'Reilly.....BANG! Hey Fred Durst...BOOM!"

12. Now, I just wanna say, keep up the good work and create more music in
the future, all luck to you. Thank you for the time.

"Thank you. People can order my cds directly through me by emailing me at sagefrancis@hotmail.com or SageTSS@aol.com. Take care."

Hahah, when the question about "shoot-outs" is printed in Swiss in the actual publication, it's gonna mean the right thing probably... and the readers are gonna be mighty confused about the Fred Durst reference :)

but hahah, i love it. classic.

I am sad to say that I won't be able to afford going to that damn festival. And I have a hole in my foot for it.

That shoot-out question was lovely though.
