it bugs me when people say that sexuality has nothing to do with hiphop. it would be nice if that were true, but it's not. hiphop is perhaps the most testosterone driven form of popular music around. rock is way more accepting (elton john, david bowie).

and don't bring up the stan duet, eminem was making a statement, it's not like they toured together. just try to imagine a gay rapper becoming popular, then imagine all the homophobes acting really awkward and uncomfortable when asked about him...

dirty, dirty Q-Tip.  Reply with quote

didn't people use to say that Q-Tip was the gay rapper? people used to call him gay, when he was good, in ATCQ. and now that he is putting out really boring music, nobody is calling him gay any more. huh.

Er yes, and male homosexuality is the most testosterone driven form of sexual orientation around. I fail to see the incompatibility here.

David Bowie married a supermodel. If that's gay, point me to the pride parade.

...actually... point me to the pride parade anyway...

...i think some of you are talking bullshit, saying yeah i would buy his stuff it doesnt matter if they were gay or not. lying folks i tell ya, you can not honestly say that their sexual preference has no effect into the way you will perceive them. and as far as saying if he makes references or slightly brings it up it would be okay also is crap, sounds like politically correct ish. i personally would not listen to someone that is gay, and i guess that is fucked up and i have bought into societies ideals but so be it cause thats where i stand on the issue...

ok jesse. because of who you are i'll apologize, i shouldn't have said testosterone driven, i should have instead alluded to the machismo that seems so common. once again, i'm sorry.

and: david bowie has admitted to being bi-sexual in his past. besides, they were just examples

argue the point instead of nit picking, money

Why wouldn't you listen to someone who is gay? Your position hardly seems reasonable...

Bowie is bi-sexual. I saw one of his ex-wives on TV going on about how they shared a house, and a bed, with some young asian guy who Bowie was also bangin at the time. Besides, famous gay blokes being seen with supermodels, etc. is a very common cover-up method.

You're assuming that everyone CARES about homosexuality. I don't, personally. It's not my bag but neither is booze or weed and I sure as hell listen to enough rap about THAT. I'd RATHER suck dick than smoke a cigarette, but I can HANDLE the fact that other people smoke (and suck dick). It's not my problem. Incidentally, it isn't your problem either.

Actually fella, you're at least a decade behind society's ideals on this one.

Er, same thing. I actually was making a NON-SEMANTIC point here - male homosexuality is not about being feminine or less masculine, it is about wanting to fuck men, right? So although I know that it's not uncommon for gay men to behave in an apparently feminine manner, their interest is in masculinity, sexually. Look at gay porn! (that should be a t-shirt... "LOOK AT GAY PORN!" What's the dominant physical type? The bearing? Thugged-out hunks. I mean just look at the adult personals in your local paper and check out the cruiseline ads. Fifty Cent would not look out of place on those pages. LL Cool J would not look out of place, either.

--

The David Bowie thing was a joke. Jeez, what kind of a reputation have I given myself around here?

I also hope seamus was joking when he suggested that david bowie might be covering up his bisexuality. like um... i think his cover's pretty well blown.

ahhhh christ.

hahaha, he called him "fella" before he countered his thought. Jesse cracks me up on the psychologically annoying message board tip... that's just as bad as saying "hey listen GUY"

If anyone ever calls me "guy" they immediately get ignored... where am I going with this, uhhh... I admire Scribe's honesty on this one. I think you are all playing the liberal card very well like good young adults.

"I'd RATHER suck dick than smoke a cigarette" - Jesse Dangerously

oh yes.... this is utter bullshit. But I know Jesse will say it isn't... therefore I have written it down for posterity.
