y'all must be some diehard Wu fans cuz this doesn't stand out to me at all. Like I have no interest listening to this again. I guess I am just so over the WU. An I really don't care what Rae or any of the other dudes have to say either. An Im really not feeling their voices anymore its irritating for me now to listen to do dudes who butcher the language an sound like they can barely speak english..im talkin to you RZA. I guess that used to be part of their appeal, their verbage/slang/accents but now it just annoying to me. The one exception is the busta song is not bad.

I feel the same way as Phil for the most part.

But this, and Big Doe Rehab, are pretty good I think.

I like several songs on the new Jay-Z record
by now people should notice with my constant slobbering I really like Atmosphere.
Big fan of Brother Ali.
I like several songs by Kid Cudi.
I Like the Knux album...Im suprised they havent got more shine cuz they are popish sounding but I like their live instrumentation.
I think Wale is talented an like some of his songs
I've liked several songs on every Kanye album.
I like some of Lupe Fiasco's songs too.
I love boots an The Coup
I don't mind some of Lil Wayne's songs..mostly off dedication 2
I still check for lyrics born but is most recent output has turned me off
I'm really trying not to be a musical slob but someone my age who listens to as much hip hop as I do rarely exists anymore I am a dinosaur.
The people my age who were teens in 80's rarely listen to it anymore at least the people I know. But really I don't like or can listen to 90% of it anymore it takes alot to impress me.

The only tracks I really didn't dig were the Dr. Dre produced ones...and it's weird because I like Dr. Dre. Honestly, we need a D.O.H. - "Death of Handclaps"

What I like is it is a straight up street album - I did not see any sell out moves on this album. It's raw, gritty and I think he kept it real. Rae stuck to the formula - anything else would have been a self-pwn. If you don't like the Wu, then I can understand why you wouldn't enjoy this album.

[So, Phil what do you like? Flo-rida er some shit?* Butchering, the language? You sound like one of those Grandpa's complaining about rap. "...with their baggy pants and stuff. You know, you can see their underwear....(waves cane angrily)"

*edit: saw your response after I posted mine.

Sad because I can recognize that it's the best stuff I've heard from him in a while and but I know I'll never go back and listen to it again. Shit just isn't clicking fo me the way it did when I was a wee lad.

He's totally lying. He is sad cause he secretly hates you all this time, Phil. And now he'll never come over to your house to play X-box drink nonalcoholic beers and manhug you! The dream is officially dead.

Lordy...
You must learn to hide your love for your rappers. Tuck it away in a secret place. It's too undignified for a P DAWG.

This album is bogus. The loops just repeat and repeat. RZA and his original producer cronies used to have a way of making their tracks sound organic, mutable, and giving the impression of space witha few bars and some slightly irregular drum patterns. Whatever it was that did that hasn't been there since Iron Man. And that's that.
Put Wutang to bed and let the dummies listen to them snoring. Bah.

I'm talking about how you love up your rapper age peers and seek their approval, weigh their impressions of you, and possibly also write fan fiction about your day at the ballgame with Slug the same way I write fan fiction about living in a satanic clubhouse in Indiana and smoking weed and solving mysteries wyth the Juggaload cloun Poss Crazy clowns.

I don't know what these rapper age peers signify in the wizened mind of a PDAWG. I myself am not a Pdawg so I couldn't say.
But you may not know that you do it. And I wanted to alert you to the fact that you do so that you don't get embarrassed later in life.

jeez. Smoke a blunt and play some dominos or something. Or drive around on a saturday afternoon with this shit playing in your car. This is good shit. The cynicism that some rap fans have is damn near baffling these days.

A lot of those old Wu beats were straight loops too. The samples were just better.
