Since becoming obsessed with Juggalos and Juggalettes, as well as The Dark Carnival and the concept of Shangri-La/Hell's Pit, I've come to the conclusion that for many ninjas, being a Juggalo is the most positive thing in their lives. And yes, it is basically a gigantic marketing scheme which lines the pockets of ICP thoroughly, but it isn't any more malicious than most youth-targeted scenes. The fact that Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope seem virulently anti-racist and anti-redneck is, in fact, quite positive. |
