Prayers For Atheists IN STORES NOW! Streaming EP, reviews  Reply with quote

"4.5 Stars"-Decoymusic

Prayers For Atheists have dropped their debut self-titled EP on Strange Famous Records, adding a touch of punk rock to the indie-hop label.

The entire Prayers For Atheists EP is streaming now at PFA's MySpace. Listen here:

Fronted by long-time SFR affiliate Jared Paul and punk rock journeyman Alan Hague, PFA delivers the well crafted and thought provoking lyrics people have come to expect from Strange Famous. Thrashing rapidly between mid-80's hardcore punk, counter-culture victory anthems, and politically-slanted rap, PFA gracefully snakes in and out of genres while escaping lazy categorization.

J-Heezy! Many thanks, man. This is the hardest I've ever worked on a piece of art in my life. Almost all the music on the album was written and also played in the studio by Alan. He could really jump off guitar and kill any of those drum parts live at any time if he wanted to- on some Dave Grohl shit. My cousin Tom plays bass live and Marco is on drums. We're so fuckin' excited to hit the road for this tour man. The Seattle show is at Studio Seven on Wednesday, August 5th... lemme know if you're gonna be rollin' through!! We'll definitely put you on the list.

*The bass for Bike Song, Wrong Horse, and Lot's Wife was written by our good friend and former bassist Mo Dorez.

So excited for this. It comes out the day before my birthday, and then PFA hit NYC the day after my birthday.

I like that PFA let me have my birthday to focus on myself.

This album is going to rule.

Travadone- he said Alan "wrote"the music and played it. Not the lyrics.

Wow, thanks man. Seriously. Pre-order's prolly the way to go. I love Philly but we weren't able to line anything up in the time frame that we needed for this run. Definitely plan on getting out there this Fall. It means a lot that you're down to support like that. We really believe in these songs and every little bit counts.

Good lookin' out, big Break! Hope to be seeing you in SLC man.

I wrote all the lyrics for this album, but we've got a big chunk of the next one done already and it's going to feature more of Alan's lyrics too.

*Happy almost birthday Bob- Lost in Translation is one of my all time favorites. Francis actually got me the movie book w/ sound track for my birthday a couple years back!

color me impressed, I didn't know what to expect but from the description I didn't expect the vocals to be this rappy..don't know how else to explain it
I really like the chorus on coat hanger 18 and the play off shut em down very nice. I like rows of steel as well.
I could see this breaking from the pack out of all the recent and upcoming sfr releases due to the genre breaking style.
I mean this could easily fit in on a warped tour an things like that.
