Anyway... all this is opinion. If you aren't worried that people see you that way then you can ignore me. If others come out and tell me that my opinion sucks then I'll simply keep it to myself instead of explaining it. That's how it goes. Personally, I like a little self-consciousness. If I sparked that reaction in you then I don't think it's a bad thing.

I'm on the same page as you regarding self-consciousness. I'm not worried that some people see me that way but I am conscious of it and will reflect on it.

no, it's not, and I don't resent you at all for expressing your view, redball. I respect your opinion. On this and other matters.

General election campaign time is weird. It's a period of time in which I -do- take the Democratic party as a whole "movement" because on election day often the good Dems and the bad Dems rise and fall together. The alternative -- that the good Dems fail -- is a greater evil to me than that bad Dems will rise with the good ones. In all of their places would be a bunch of terrible Republicans. I've been a professional advocate for Democrats, so I've had a lot of practice seeing it that way and making that case.

Obama does have the potential to be as great as any of those leaders you named. I still feel that way. That -is- a personality thing with me, because I think he's a phenomenal human being. That doesn't dictate how I feel about policies. They're two different arenas. I'm beyond hero worship at this point in my life, more or less. My favorite people make big mistakes.

You're an alarmist, I'm an adoreablist. Can you maintain your irrational fear of the New World Order in the face of a basket full of kittens?

I THINK NOT!
