Can I just remind people that if Shane is coming within an hour of where you are you need to check him out. His CD is great, and he is great live (I've only seen him play two songs, or 3 diddies[?]), but dude is driving long ass drives to play for you, so drive a drive to welcome him.

Hopefully he'll be rolling in a Sebring convertible ala Micheal Scott style.

Show starts at 8:00 - we're scheduled for 9:30. I'm running the show, so if anything we'll play slightly later than that

See you there homie!

I could very much be down for this. It'll depend on what time my parents fly out that day, since I'll have to see them off and all that. I'll get atcha.

I had a great time Friday night! It was really nice to hang out with Tom, erich, cakes and co., niki, frezz, and shane himself. always an adventure. i left with a big smile.

the show was really excellent, too. i didn't pay much attention to the set prior to or following shane's, but shane and the boys laid it down nicely. the whole band is good, but shane is really an excellent band leader and has really impressive and inspiring stage presence. he intro'd his set with a nice rap moment and then moved on to the bulk of his set which (from what my unlearned ears could tell) was a mix of originals and covers of classic (but not wicked hipstery-hip) indie rock gems. as someone who rarely listens to rock music these days, it was really refreshing and reminded me of the real potential beauty of a guitar and a powerful voice. especially in the hands of a pro like shane. also, lots of audience participation, which i usually consider myself too cool for but quite enjoyed.

it was an interesting context for his music, this house-turned-hookah-lounge full of hippie accoutrements and ever-blending flavors of shisha smoke. also, full of people -- tons of people, getting down. also, being ridiculous. hahah. good times. thanks for the funk, shane!

i definitely would implore anyone within a radius of his upcoming dates not to miss the chance to meet shane and see him perform. dude is a gem. his music is too but, like, it's all part of the package. between the show and getting to chill with some of my favorite forum members, it was a huge win. definitely the highlight of my weekend.

i almost forgot: for the record, i bought a large girl's shirt and it fits way better than the medium guys shirt. and im not a large guy, either. the material feels a little nicer, too.

I can't put any wiscomptonites up, but I hope you guys make the trek down!

There is a great restaurant we should hit up- Ay Ay Picante on Elston. Its a little bit of a drive, but its cheap and delicious!! And BYOB!

Timbryo - thanks for the kind words my man. Every show has been super dope so far.

Tonight's Philly how has been moved because the owners consider 4/20 a holiday (?! Ha.) and decided to close down.

But I called The Fire and they said they'd try and put me on for a 9:00 - 9:30 opening slot before their open mic and then do another couple songs later...so if you're in or around Philly, that's where you'll find us. :)
