Cool clothing, but why are they always in black?!?! I love to support SFR, but I don't think I could bring myself to getting a second black sage sweatshirt. If it was in red or something...

haha you're not the only one with that complaint. Storm has voiced up. But we've released various colors. Black happens to be my favorite shirt color and it also happens to be the best selling color for us. The SFR jackets are navy blue and I love the way they look.

I've had my shirts in the following colors:
white
kelly green
navy blue
grey
off-white
pink
red

And there are other shirts in our catalog that are non-black.

But you're right. My own shirt designs could use some color variation. We're working on that. Til then, we're men in black.

but what do I know, an ya I know no one asked me

I like the lettering of the SFR on the back

I don't know what the fuck it is. We call it the wheat logo. We're kinda dumb. I like it. But we might be coming up with something new soon. Probably not though.

Naaah, don't bother. You have my full endorsement, and I don't throw around endorsements easily*. Looks like royalty.

*my endorsement of your new logo could probably be bought for a token complement or decorative wreath.

I always thought it was a Laurel Wreath too... or Bay Laurel, or herbal Bay Leaves...

"A laurel wreath is a circular wreath made of interlocking branches and leaves of the Bay Laurel (Laurus nobilis, Lauraceae), an aromatic broadleaf evergreen. In Greek mythology, Apollo is represented wearing a laurel wreath on his head. In ancient Greece wreaths were awarded to victors, both in athletic competitions, including the ancient Olympics, and in poetic meets; in Rome they were symbols of martial victory, crowning a successful commander during his triumph. Whereas ancient laurel wreaths are most often depicted as a horseshoe shape, modern versions are usually complete rings.

In common modern idiomatic usage it refers to a victory. The expression "resting on one's laurels" refers to someone relying on their past success to cover up their current inadequacies."

"Some countries the laurel wreath is used as symbol of the master's degree. The wreath is given to young masters in the graduation ceremony of the university. The word "Laureate" in 'poet laureate' refers to being signified by the laurel wreath. The medieval Florentine poet and philosopher Dante Alighieri, a graduate of the Sicilian School, is often represented in paintings and sculpture wearing a laurel wreath."

"Bay Laurel is the source of the bay leaves which are used for their flavor in cooking. It was also the source of the laurel wreath of ancient Greece, and therefore the expression of "resting on one's laurels". A wreath of bay laurels was given as the prize at the Pythian Games because the games were in honor of Apollo and the laurel was one of his symbols ever since his unsuccessful pursuit of Daphne. In the Bible, the sweet-bay is often an emblem of prosperity and fame. In Christianity it is said to symbolize the Resurrection of Christ and the triumph of Humanity thereby. It is also the source of the word baccalaureate (laurel berry), and of poet laureate..."

"Apollo and Daphne" -Bernini

"Was it always made using Laurel to construct the wreath? In fact, No, whilst the name remained throughout the centuries, the traditions changed from place to place and from time to time. The ancient Greek replaced the laurel with olive leaves, and in the dark medieval days, balissic replaced laurel and olive to make the wreath."
History of the Laurel Wreath

It could be wheat too, there's millions of different kinds:

If you get to the husk of it:
