i used to work for the "CAMBRIDGE HOUSE OF GRANBY"
in granby, ct.
don't fucking go there.
everyone tells me their beer is good, so i guess trying it if you spot a bottle somewhere might be cool.
the whole time i worked there the brewmaster was the only guy i really trusted.
but don't eat the food.
i wouldn't eat anything there unless i knew who was cooking it.
with that, i don't really drink.
no suggestions... ;p

Yuengling is my standby. It's good, very drinkable, and most of the bars and restaurants around here carry it. Every now and then I opt for Bass or Newcastle.

Lately when I buy beer for the house I've bought McSorley's. While it's not quite the same as drinking it at McSorley's, it's pretty decent.

Magic Hat Number 9 is good, I used to buy that from the liquor store next door, before I moved.

I like porters best but I never remember the names of the ones I've had.

edit: I found the porter that I've been getting lately... they sell it at my local, and amazingly well stocked, A&P. Dark Horse Reserve Special Black Bier

I don't care about beer. I'll drink it if it's there, but bleaugh. It takes too long to drink, and thus too long to get a buzz.

Yuengling is the college beer of choice down here (i.e. Mason-Dixon line). It sucks. Whenever I drink it, I sudden feel disgusted with myself, as if the cheap college beer I used to drink in Maine was any better. I don't know why I feel this way, but I do. While you guys seem to move towards it, I move away from Yuengling.

Unrelated to Yuengling: With any cheap beer (i.e. Amstel, Coors, Nattie, Bud, etc.) I put some salt in it so it fizzes. In my opinion, it seems to taste better after that.

PS - Weyerbacher has always been too expensive for me, however it is a very good beer.

Pssh. I can slam a beer in less than 10 seconds if I want.
But I pace myself and don't fuck with liquor at all anymore because I only drink in social situations and I don't like to fuck my game up with a 10 minute buzz leading into a night long raging blackout.

Augustiner Dukel ...

This stuff is the bacon of beers. But I've never seen it outside of Munich.

Before I left I was getting into IPA's but hadn't found a favorite, since getting here I've gotten hooked on ...

They make a good dark as well.
