Once I interviewed Sage Francis. He took my tape recorder, ran away, and recorded himself singing "Somebody's Watching Me."

Shit! I gave Sage a half ounce of skunk weed and a bottle of JD for a tape recorder.
Fucker promised me it wasn't stolen!

HAHAHAHA
for some reason all I can imagine is that stupid old McDonalds commercial where the kid goes around trading shit to other kids and in the end gettin his own stuff and mcdonalds fries out of it at the end, except I'm picturin it with Sage as the main kid (I think im the only person that knows what I'm talkin about at this point).

hmmmm... I met Sage in San Jose at a show... after I had already done an online interview. Very dope moment for me... at that time, he was very cool, calm... it may be cause of the 2 girls I was with... both beautiful.. and both givin' him "the eye".. haha.

I think I spent like $140 on merch at that show... stuff for me, the girls, and my boy.. damn them.. am I made of money?!?! I got the Personal Journals vinyl and had Sage sign it...

"Sean, there's always more room for you in the closet, Love Sage Francis"

hahaa.... he signed the girl's T-shirts also..

peaces.

Sage dresses like Sipowitz  Reply with quote

I recently met Sage before the show in Boulder. He was standing outside dressed in glasses, a short sleeved shirt, and tie (reminiscent of Sipowitz, now that I think about it) and he was carrying a silver metal briefcase, like the one in Pulp Fiction. Looked like he was ready to clock in to go to work. He signed my boyfriend's vinyl and I shook his hand. Sage has a real sturdy handshake. What was in the briefcase, Sage?

yea

Sage has a very vivid memory... i dont know how he does it...

probably the lack or drugs or alcohol would be the leading factor

i forget people's names like you wouldnt believe... im always caught in odd situations where i REALLY should know their name, after meeting or hanging out with them SEVERAL times, yet i still forget

At the Philly show I told Sage I needed to save some dough for cabfare and to take it easy on me with his wily salesmanship (whoa...sail man's ship). At that moment I thought, "This is what my life's come to? Asking rappers not to force their wares on me?" Then I was told "either buy something or go the hell away"....well, part of that story is true anyway.

My brush with greatness...
