YOU WERE AT FINALS??  Reply with quote

that was a crazy night.
only time i've ever been
in a competition of that
magnitude, where all
the people slamming
were hanging out and
kicking backstage.

i missed too many of the
performances, while
practicing though.

do me a favor?? introduce
yourself to me at the show.
look forward to seeing you.

MANIC.

PROVIDENCE WINS!!  Reply with quote

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We TOOK that shit, even with huge time penalties, & me accidentally reversing two lines in the middle of my shit!!

The standings for Wednesdays regional were;

1. PROVIDENCE
2. BOSTON LIZARD LOUNGE
3. BOSTON CANTAB

HA HAAA, you know what Mr. Manic says about our favorite city to the north during times like these??

C'mon y'all, SAY IT WITH ME-

one... two... three... F-U-C-K B-O-S-T-O-N!!!

AAAHH YEEEAH.

Highlights of the evening:

*OZ from Lizard Lounge killed it in the last round, absolutely fucking killed it.

*Scan ripping the open mic (damn fine job), and prefacing it with "i'm gonna kick somethin' right now, it's probably a little different then what you people are used to". Perfect.

*DJ Lowly beats over the PA all night

*Brand new Sage Francis material debut as the anchor for Team Providence

*Ghetto Feminist girl kicking it in the open mic, simultaneously giving the finger to lyrics from any genre that objectify women/people and tackling an issue 80% of the people in the room probably never even considered; a feminist black woman from southside with a college degree using clear cut reality based examples to showcase the strengh of her community and denounce negatives. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHO THIS GIRL IS PLEASE TELL HER TO COME BACK.

We leave for Mineapolis in 10 days. HAAAALLLLLLLAAAAAH.

There's an 8 team Regional Slam on Wednesday night in Boston:
New York City Urbana, Boson I, Boston II, Worcester, Providence, Burlington, Bridgewater, & Hartford- 7:30PM @ the Cantab Lounge,
MASS AVE.

ALSO:

TEAM PROVIDENCE FEATURES AS A TEAM ON THE FIRST THURSDAY OF SEPTEMBER. THE WHOLE TEAM WILL HAVE
PRODUCT FOR SALE. OPEN MIC, THEN THE FEATURE, FOLLOWED BY THE FIRST SLAM OF THE SEASON!!

PEACEY,

MANIC.

PS- Scan thanks for coming out, it was good to see ya.

inhaler, thanks for the help partner.
that regional was wild on the 1st
my head was spinning.

it was a good night but it seemed
so hectic to me, like
i was a fronteers man who knew the
terrain, but that slam was consistently
two steppes ahead of me.

it was good to meet you!!
we'll see ya in boson.
