I read the new Harry Potter book. It kicked ass. I like to imagine that Professor Snape is Elliott Smith.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy
And then various comics. This week Metal Men and Justice Society stand out for me.

I thought the new Harry Potter was alright but that the ending was a weak shitty cop-out. 4000 pages of attempted epic-ness for THAT?! Psh.

Anyhow, now I'm reading Uncle Tom's Cabin which is a really thought provoking book. I don't know that it's all the well written, it's decently written, and it's representations of people's dialogue and attitudes do not seem terribly realistic, however, it is very stimulating to read and she was a bold bold woman to write it in the middle of the 19th century and not even take a pen name. Her presentation of religion is particularly interesting (not very positive, at least so far) considering her own history and beliefs. I'm glad I'm reading it finally.

I need to get up on my Marget Atwood. I've never read any of her books. Only heard her spoken of in various tones by varying degrees of people.
