If you read the 'About' section of his blog/site, you'll find this in the first paragraph:

This is not the Next Big Thing ™. This is not about pumping out reviews as soon as an album drops. This is not a replacement or competition for other more up date, connected, and commercial music sites or blogs. This is about quality. This is about appreciation. This is about really taking the time to listen to an artists music before forming an opinion. This is about good writing, informed opinions, and solid recommendations.

Sage Francis launches into the disastrous, “Underground for Dummies,” which may have been an attempt at a personal history but comes across as unsubstantiated self-aggrandizement. Frankly, if Sage Francis were as talented as he purported in this song, he could brag about himself in a way that was actually interesting. I almost gave up after this single song.

So is he committed to giving albums up for review a fair listen to or not?
There are contradictions all throughout his thought process on this review.

As far as bragging on UFD, yeah, I like when he's bragging about:
having to crash on couches,
having cars he couldn't afford,
taking any cash he could to put food in his mouth,
sloppily placing artwork in his packaging,
how he didn't get the audiences at one point 'till Atmosphere put him on etc.

And even if there was more bragging to just true story telling, we all know bragging has never been a part of Hip-Hop right? I think the title of that track just hits too close to home for this guy. Dummy.
