| Can I be the first ... |
|
|
... to re-ignite an old thread.
I have started to get the bus into work again, and have now read just about every book I own.
Any recommendations? |

I just read "Stupid White Men" by Michael Moore. His writing style becomes aggrivating after a while, but he highlights some very interesting things and drowns you in statistics. |

My Experiments with Truth: an autobiography- Mahatma Gandhi
The Gospel According to the Son- Norman Mailer
Both are very interesting and entertaining reads. Check them out if you're bored.

Anything by Rohinton Mistry (A Fine Balance, Family Matters, etc) or Salman Rushdie (The Satanic Verses, The Ground Beneath Her Feet...); 100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
XvScott - That Dave Eggers shit is damn good. Goddamned fucking good.

Excellent book. I am still trying to get my girlfriend to read it, but the er... size of it scares her. |

Anything by Charles Bukowski. Right now I'm reading "Run With The Hunted". It's a collection of his poems, short stories, and excerpts from his novels. The guy is awesome.
Chuck Palahniuk too. I've only read "Choke" and "Survivor", but they were nice.
And I like Kurt Vonnegut. |
