3-D Worldrunner is the lick. I have the glasses...and I still rock them whenever I play the game. How often do I play it? Often enough to have written words to the music that plays during the game:
Look up in the sky
It's Three-ee D World-run-ner
Jumping all around
It's just Three-ee D World-run-ner
When he gets his neener*
He is bound to set it off
But for now he's just Three-ee D World-run-ning
*This is timed so that by the time you say this line on the first board, you actually do get your "neener."
There was a second verse, too, but I forgot it because it was terminally lame. But here's the refrain:
Three-ee D
Jumps over canyons and collects his stars
Three-ee D
Why do you have such beef with the rolling heads? (2X)
Hahahaaa...yeah, you could say I play that shit alot. Man...we used to play knock-out tournaments of Nintendo Ice Hockey and award trophies to the winners--always a local name like the "Flushing, Queens Ice Hockey Champeen." We'd select MVPs, too: the small guys were Squeerts, the big guys were Tubbies, and the medium guys were Messiers. Often the Squirt would be the sleeper star of the game, giving rise to the claim that the Squirt "does the work of ten Tubbies."
We also named the guys on the zamboni after the 2nd period! Tony, Pete and Mario. I have no idea why we did this or what purpose it served other than to give them shout-outs while keeping score.
Holy shit, I'm going back in time with this now...incidentally, after reading this thread yesterday I went online last night and downloaded two dozen NES rom hacks to play on the computer...and now this thread is two pages longer! HAhahah! 8-bit NES for-evaaaaaa! |

ah shit.
i think we were too poor to afford a nes. i'm not sure.
i feel like i'm missing out here!
the first proper games thing we got was a snes.
still have it in a cupboard.
the snes was the fairly uncool one to have at first as everyone seemed to have the sega thing. it was called a mega drive over here. not sure if it was the same for america.

this is getting quite depressing. because i'm sure for most people here, the only fucking chance you were going to get a games console was at christmas. unless you were really rich. in which case....fuck you! haha
yeah i remember me and my brother having to say that it was the only present we wanted and we'd split it between us and stuff. ah memories.
where did you go santa? |

I worked in a coffee shop preparing returned newspapers for pickup (which involves ripping the cover off and chucking the rest) for an entire Summer, making whatever the owner felt like giving me that day, in order to buy the Nintendo at Consumers for $140.
I even remember going to get it and everything. Wow. |

Maniac Mansion was great. Dr. Chaos has some great sounds to sample.
I liked Disney's Adventures in Magic Kingdom.
Legacy of the Wizard anyone?? |

Lee Travino's Fighting Golf is the only game mentioned in this thread that I don't have. And yes, I'm bragging.
Baseball Stars is the best baseball game ever made.
When isn't it?
Peace,
