Doomtree

SFR is proud to offer you the first “official” album by the entire Minneapolis, MN crew Doomtree, featuring all new raps from P.O.S., Sims, Dessa, Cecil Otter, and Mike Mictlan, and all new beats from Lazerbeak, MK Larada, Paper Tiger, and P.O.S. Plus guest appearances from I Self Divine (Micranots) and Crescent Moon.

Unfamiliar with Doomtree? We’ll let them fill you in on what you’re missing:

“Doomtree is a record label. Doomtree is a rap crew. Doomtree is a family. Over the past five years Doomtree has become one of the most highly regarded hip-hop collectives in the Midwest, thanks to innovative recordings, explosive live shows, and tireless work ethic. By combining the blueprint of hip hop with the DIY ethos of punk and a slew of disparate artistic and musical influences, Doomtree has won the favor of a broad range of audiences, as likely to find fans at indie rock shows as at rap shows or basement dance parties. In the past several years the collective has grown to include the lyrical and production talents of more than a dozen core members. The members of Doomtree come from a wide variety of backgrounds and musical interests, but join together to create some of the most forward-thinking beats and rhymes this side of 1987.”

You can also peep the video for the first single “Drumsticks” on YouTube here.

The new Doomtree CD is available in our online store now. The Digital Download is available in our digital music section.

Doomtree

Doomtree’s emcee/producer double-threat Cecil Otter has a new album as well, called Rebel Yellow, and its available here at SFR. We have the CD as well as the digital download.

There isn’t much written about this album anywhere online so Sage did a write up which appears on the album’s product page.

Doomtree’s P.O.S. released his second solo album Audition on Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2005. Check it out in the SFR Store here.

Monday, August 11th, 2008

NightlifeYour friends here at SFR have joined forces with our friends the Metermaids to offer you what could possibly be the deal of the century. Granted, it’s early in the century, so we’ll hold off on making any huge, crazy proclamations just yet. But it’s a hell of a deal in any case: the Metermaids’ new CD, Nightlife, and a great Metermaids T-shirt for only $9.99!

We’ll let the Metermaids themselves fill you in on the details:

Love, Metermaids.”

A simple two-step process lands you two great items - buy the CD from SFR and then holler at the Metermaids and tell them you want your shirt!
