What a fackin’ decision… I’m genuinely impressed by a lot of these remixes … and have already hit up some of these producers asking for instrumentals … Sincere thanks to anyone who submitted one of these; I appreciate your effort.

We received over 100 submissions to this contest, and of those, over 20 were judged to be live enough for the public to vote on. Additionally, Alias set the bar pretty fucking high to begin with, soooo… The choice between all this quality stuff will be a question of my fickle ass taste, I guess…

RPM!!!

RPM’s is the remix I can most see myself bumping in the stolen pickup truck as me and Will Smith drive through the ruins of NY … The combination of some amazing effects work on the vocals, and the audacity of sampling Van Halen… RPM is a muhfuckin outlaw, and gave the song an outlaw remix. Reeespeck.

Honorable mention to:

* Dedou: for an incredible beat that nailed the mood and urgency perfectly. To be honest I waffled between Dedou and RPM for about an hour this morning… but eventually settled on RPM for the above mentioned reasons… but goddamn Dedou.

* Varick Pyr: whose ‘undead remix’ (which no one has heard) came with an instrumental too fuckin good to release. Instead I’ve been writing to it all week!@#

* Tommi Teardrop: When I finally heard the ‘immortal’ slipped in there, I found myself barking laughter in my basement at 4am. well played, Tommayyy, well played.

* HighP: The people’s choice! HighP won the voting contest with 179 votes, and for good reason … this remix is meaner than lou dobbs’ daddy.
